For some people, setting up a filing system seems like an overwhelming amount of work. In reality, it can take you about 30 minutes and then you will reap the benefits from there on out. An organized filing system can be a game changer at work and is well worth your time. Keep your filing system simple and avoid too many different tabs to keep track of.

Get Rid of Stuff You Don’t Need

There is more than like a great deal of items on top of your desk that aren’t actually essential to your work. Things you will more than like have to have on your desk to do your job include a calendar, notepad, pens, laptop/computer, phone, and more. All of the other items that you don’t need to have on your desk to complete you work should be removed and put away.

Organize Desk Drawers

If you are like many people, that top drawer of your desk is a catch all. It might have snacks in there, old takeout menus, business cards, old office supplies that you no longer use or need and other items that are simply junk. This is a great time to go through that drawer and bring back some organization.

Wipe Down Your Desk

Now that you have all the “stuff” off of your desk, it’s time to give it a good wipe down. When was the last time you wiped down your desk? That’s what we thought. You would be surprised at how many germs and bacteria are found on your desk’s surface.
